We should try always to remind ourselves that the only thing important in this world is closness to Hashem. We are always growing closer. Even when we do avaras, it is a wonderful oppurtunity to then speak your heart out to Hashem, tell Him you find it hard, tell Hashem you want to grow away from this avara, and then tell Hashem how much you love Him and want to come close to Him, and of course do tsheuva. It is such a chessed from Hashem that we have an oppurtunity to constantly connect with the source of creation, and Hashem is always with us, guiding and protecting us constantly. I read in ‘Faith & Folly’ by Rav Yaakov Hillel that ‘the only reason tivers and avaras are in this world is so that we pray to Hashem.’ We are able to give so much nachas to Hashem just by wanting to grow and then by actually taking small steps we can create worlds of kedushah. That’s all that matters, growing closer to Hashem. I hope we can all internalise that every second of every day has potential for growth. We are not just in this world to learn shas and do mitzvahs. That is not the goal. The goal is to become an eved Hashem where we serve Hashem with our hearts and do mitzvahs and chessed for Hashem.
