How do we know that moshe Rabbeinu was a satmer chossid.
First the question is was he a misnagid or a chossid??
This is no argument its obvious that such a pious (chossid) man can’t possible be a misnagid!
So if he’s a chossid which sect does he come from.
The Torah says that Moshe was 10 amos tall (approx 60 foot). The Torah also says that the Mishkan was also 10 Amos tall. Now if he’s a chossid then he would wear a hat. If he wore a hat he would have to wear a flat hat so that he was no taller than the mishkan. now only two sects of chassidim wear this flat Plotche bibur (Flat frizbee-like hat)! Satmer and a little bit of breslov.
It is the main minhag of satmer to wear this type hat. It is only a minor minhag for a minority of breslov to wear this hat.
If moshe rabbeinu was breslover then it would be the main minhag in breslover chassidism to wear the plotche bibur hat.Obviously they would follow their leader!! However it is not their main minhag. so from this we can learn that moshe rabbeinu was not a breslov chossid and therefore must be a satmer.
