Beautiful Vort Re: Brochos!!

I heard this Vort b’shem Rav Ginsburg (Michlala Sem and Netiv Aryeh), He said it in the name of Ramban When we say Brochos on food and most brochos in general we start off by saying in the second person then we go to the third person! We say Boruch Atoh Hashem, Blessed are YOU Hashem (2nd person) we use this 2nd person because Chazal want us to talk direct to Hashem. anyway when we make a brocha we are thanking Hashem so its better to do it in 2nd Person.

We then say Elokeinu Melech Ha’olom, Our G-d, King of the Universe…

Here we realise who it is we are talking to so we say whoa whoa hold on i’m talking to G-d So we change to 3rd person when we say Shehakol Nihiyeh Bidvaro, that everything comes from HIS word not bidvorecha Your word!

We learn that the Gemora teaches that one should greet his Rebbe or a great Man in third Person (I think Maseches Brochos possibly Daf 27) so how much more so should we do the same With Hashem!

When we say a brocha this is what we are doing: Boruch Atoh Hashem (blessed are you Hashem), Elokeinu Melech Ha’olom (Our G-d King of the Universe) – ah i realise who im talking to – Shehakol Nihiye Bidvaro (that everything came from His word.
